Why use the Bitfinity Wallet?
The Bitfinity wallet is widely used and compatible with many Internet Computer (IC) applications. It is unlikely that a member of the IC ecosystem has yet to come across the wallet before. But why use the Bitfinity wallet?
The Bitfinity wallet is widely used and compatible with many Internet Computer (IC) applications. It is unlikely that a member of the IC ecosystem has yet to come across the wallet before. But why use the Bitfinity wallet?
What is it, and why should it be my wallet?
There are non-custodial crypto wallets available in the IC space that have been in operation before the original InfinitySwap wallet (rebranded as the Bitfinity Wallet) was released, but our wallet has essential features and tools that set it apart from the others.
It is the most advanced non-custodial crypto wallet on the Internet Computer blockchain as it is one of the first to use Internet Identity (an Internet Computer-compatible anonymous blockchain user management and authentication framework) for Web3 and crypto management. This allows people to easily access their wallet accounts, taking advantage of the use of biometrics that make it fast and secure to access from anywhere.
Custody
Since it is “custody-free,” this means that all power and responsibility of a wallet is in the hands of a wallet creator and owner, as the management of assets are controlled by the individual. The privacy of each wallet account is respected, and the security key/seed phrases of every wallet are the owner's sole property.
Security
In terms of security, the Bitfinity wallet is cautious and proactive in ensuring the safety of its users' assets. For example, if enabled, the Auto-Lock feature automatically locks a person’s wallet after a specified period of inactivity. This feature is vital because other non-custodial IC wallets lack this critical feature that makes the wallet owner relaxed about others using their device as the auto-lock will help to lock their wallet after some time. This effectively protects people who are forgetful or careless about who accesses their devices.
Market & NFT Adoption
The Bitfinity Wallet is widely supported and integrated into many decentralized applications (dApps) and all major marketplaces. It is dynamic and empowered for mass adoption on the Internet Computer ecosystem. It supports available DAB-registered NFT formats and is the only wallet integrated with all major IC marketplaces.
Token Adoption
You can store and track the most widespread IC token standards on the Bitfinity wallet; this is the same wallet that was the first to adopt Internet Computer's ICRC-1 token standard. Additionally, InfinitySwap's IS20 token standard is supported with all its features in the Bitfinity wallet. EXT tokens are also included for NFTs.
Very soon, after the final integration of Bitcoin and Ethereum, these network tokens will also be compatible with the Bitfinity wallet.
Contact Book
The Bitfinity Wallet has a contact book feature to save addresses easily. In this way, personal addresses or addresses of friends with whom we interact regularly are saved for easy access and to help us make timely transactions.
QR Code Feature
The latest version of the Bitfinity wallet has a “scan a QR code” feature (which is not that common among other IC wallets) for easy transfers without manually entering the transfer details to avoid sending tokens to the wrong address and causing losses.
If you do not already have the latest version of the Bitfinity wallet, it is available on Chrome as an extension that can be downloaded here.
Follow these steps to get started with the wallet, and let us know what features you want to see in the next Bitfinity wallet update. Let us know in the comments below!
