#Bitfinians, this is our moment! 🚀 Today, we’re proud to announce that Bitfinity Network, the EVM-compatible Bitcoin Layer-2 built on ICP, and designed for a new age of decentralized finance, has officially launched its mainnet. This isn’t just another milestone—it’s a big step forward for Bitcoin and IC DeFi, and we couldn’t have done it without YOU, #Bitfinians.

From humble beginnings, we quickly recognized a big opportunity to create meaningful change: building a cross-chain EVM platform that empowers secure, decentralized finance (DeFi) on Bitcoin and the Internet Computer (ICP).

While Bitcoin offers unmatched liquidity and the Internet Computer boasts unparalleled scalability, both ecosystems have been missing a robust, conventional DeFi layer. Bitcoin’s lack of a versatile smart-contract programming language has limited its potential in DeFi, while the absence of atomic composability in the IC has made building complex DeFi applications more challenging than in traditional environments.

Bitfinity is here to change that.
